"Eagle Rock Cheerleading Tryouts are scheduled for December of 2012"

Why you might ask. Well, our cheerleaders are for basketball only so there is no need to hold tryouts any earlier.

Side note: Skyline tryouts are held in May. More information on those will be coming out soon.

Friday Focus

 “The Force is With Us”

Friday, May 11th

Message from the Principal: I have a new challenge and I need someone’s assistance.  Next year, as part of our schedule, we will offer three computer skills classes for seventh graders as part of the wheel.  Since we’re talking about computers and technology, the lab will need to be in the building.  Since I need a classroom for the lab, I need a teacher to “volunteer” to move into Trailer 13 which resides directly north of C – Hall.  Yes, the trailer will have wireless internet access, bottled water, and a ramp; that much I can promise.  If you’re not averse to making this adjustment, please let me know by Wednesday, May 16th.

The board approved May 30th as the last day for secondary schools. This will be a full regular day and not a half day. The intent was to leave enough time on Tuesday and Wednesday for testing. Thursday and Friday will be internal moving days. Monday June 4th will be a teacher workday. Teachers may feel the need to complete grades on Thursday and Friday, but Monday the 4th is for that purpose. Teacher’s check out will be on Monday, June 4th as per district directive.

Upcoming Events:  Wednesday, May 16th Goodbye Breakfast for our departing staff.

Seen and Heard:  During teacher appreciation week, the students signed posters for our teachers.  There were a lot of great comments:

  • Thanks a lot.  I am going to miss this school.
  • You guys are awesome.
  • All my teachers help me out, understand, and know how to make a class understand and smile.
  • We have super teachers.
  • My teachers are the most helpful, loving, amazing people ever.
  • You guys are so awesome.  Thanks for teaching me so much.
  • This school is the best!

Feel free to leave at 3:30 today and have a great weekend!

New Requirements for 7th & 8th graders
The State Board of Education is implementing a new credit system that requires students to earn 80% of their total credits before being promoted to the next grade. If they don’t they may have to repeat that grade or earn credits through an alternate route.
