Qualifications for employementFingerprinting
In accordance with Federal and Idaho laws, all applicants (classified and certified) must have completed federal forms and a required background check before they are allowed to start a position.   All new hires are required to contact Human Resources at (208) 525-7335 or (208)525-7555 to schedule an appointment to complete all required documentation prior to their first day of work.


Certified Applicants
To be considered for a certified position, an applicant must possess the following qualifications. Original documents will need to be submitted at the time of hire.

  • A bachelor's degree from a fully accredited college or university via Official University Transcripts.

  • A valid IDAHO teacher credential for the appropriate grade level and content area.​

 

Paraprofessionals (Instructional Assistants & Aides)
Paraprofessionals employed in a Title I school, as a Title I Tutor, ELL Tutor or Resource Room Aide must provide proof of their highly qualified status.  In order to be “highly qualified”, paraprofessionals must meet one of the following requirements:

  1. A minimum of 32 college credits via university transcripts.

    OR

  2. Successful completion of the Paraprofessional Exam (460 or Higher).  The ETS Paraprofessional Assessment test will be scheduled after an offer of employment. Study guides are available upon request.

Support for New Teachers

  • Every new teacher has the chance to participate in the district’s New Teacher Induction. The late summer institute provides teachers with an overview of curriculum and state standards, as well as tips on classroom management, creating successful learners and partnering with parents.

  • Mentors provide new teachers with ongoing support, advice and suggestions.

  • Instructional coaches are available to help teachers perfect their craft. Our coaches offer job-embedded support in literacy, math, classroom management and instructional technology.

Ongoing Support for Teachers

  • Our professional learning communities provide teachers districtwide a chance to collaborate, learn from each other and work together to increase student achievement.

  • We strive to engage our students with the very best instruction and we encourage our teachers to innovate. In our district you will find: project-based instruction in a technology rich environment, a wide variety of blended classes, and simulations to teach social studies in our elementary schools.

  • With a greenbelt along the Snake River that is more than five miles long, three affordable golf courses, an ice rink, an aquatic center and dozens of parks, there is always something to do.

  • If you love the outdoors, our town can’t be beat. You can fish world-class rivers such as the Henry’s Fork, and ski world-renowned slopes such as Grand Targhee and Jackson Hole. In addition, there are countless places to hike, bike and camp. Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park are just a few hours away.

  • Idaho Falls features an historic downtown with a ­vibrant arts and theater community, and many museums and art galleries.

  • As a regional trade center, Idaho Falls has shopping, movie theaters, restaurants and regionally recognized health-care facilities.

  • In the summertime, there’s minor league baseball, a weekly farmer’s market, concerts along the river and many other special events.

  • Idaho Falls’ economy is fueled by agriculture, commerce and the DOE’s Idaho National Laboratory.

  • The city has two major universities within a short drive, as well as satellite campuses for Idaho State University and the University of Idaho. Eastern Idaho Technical College makes its home in Idaho Falls, and the College of Southern Idaho offers some classes.
