The Library will be open for use during the hours school is in session.
A student in second through sixth grade may check out two books at a time. The Kindergarten and first grade students may check out only one book at a time.
A book is due one week from the day it was checked out. However, there will be a three day grace period in which a book can be returned without a fine. A fine of five (.05) cents a day will be charged for each over due book retroactive from the day the book was due. A student may bring in canned food to pay the fine for overdue books. (The collected cans will be donated to the food bank.)
A student may not check out another book from the library of he/she has an overdue book or an outstanding fine. Once the overdue book is returned or the fine paid library privileges will be restored.
If a book is reported lost, it will be tagged as such and a student may continue checking out books while they look for the lost book. If after three months the book has not been found, the book must then be paid for.
Students will not be allowed to check out books under a teacher's name. We are loosing too many books. If a student's account is frozen due to fines or overdue books they will need to read a book from their classroom libraries. If a student is doing a report they will be allowed to check out the additional books they will need to get their projects done.
