Read with a Parent Night (RWAPN)

Each month Fox Hollow Elementary School will hold R.W.A.P.N. All students will be invited to bring a parent, grandparent, relative, neighbor or any special someone to the school to read with them. Students will be able to take Accelerated Reading tests in the Library or Computer Lab.

This is a very important and special night to each child. The students will get the opportunity to show their parents how skilled they’ve become at reading and testing. This will be a critical night of parenting; your child needs your support and encouragement in order to become a proficient reader. The reading skills and memories that you as parents will create on these evenings with your children will be instilled in their lives forever.

Please plan to come to R.W.A.P.N. with your children. Door prizes are awarded!  

AR - Accelerated Reader

The Accelerated Reading Program is designed to motivate our children to read outside of class. The teacher and student set individual goals and the student receives a reward for accomplishing each level of 25, 50, 75, and 100% of their goal. We are working as the entire student body to read one million minutes this year. Nobody will want to miss the surprise reward for this accomplishment!

Book Fairs

Scholastic Book Fairs -- Look for the Scholastic Book Fairs during Parent/Teacher Conferences. Your child can make a wish list from a wonderful selection of books. Each teacher and the librarian post a 'wish list' for their classroom, if you wish to donate.

Read-in

This is an in-school activity. Every last Tuesday of the month, the kids get to spend time reading in their classroom. It involves every class, and the PTO provides popcorn for every student to munch on while they are reading!

FAME - Fine Arts Mini Experiences

This is an in-school program to help introduce children to arts and music. Parents are welcome to attend these wonderful presentations held during the school day.

Wendy’s Night

Loved by both kids and parents!  Join us at the Broadway location (1275 W. Broadway) between the hours or 5-8 PM.  10% of all sales are donated back to Fox Hollow. What a great way to take a break from the kitchen, and visit with friends and neighbors! Meet us at Wendy’s on Broadway for all the fun. You don’t want to miss it!

Holidays

Holidays are special fun at Fox Hollow. We need parents to help keep the celebrations great. Sign up with your child’s teacher or home room parent for Halloween, Christmas, Valentine’s Day or Field Day activities. You won’t regret it, and your kids will love seeing you around on those special days. If we all do a little for each party, every celebration will be great!

Canned Food Drive

We want to 'show our love' for the community this year by holding a canned food drive sometime in February! Look for more information and plan on showing your love and support this Valentine’s Day.

Cub Scouts

The PTO sponsors non-denominational Cub Scout Pack 132. Boys in 1st thru 5th grades are welcome. Boys and their leaders typically meet once per week, on varying nights of the week. For more information, contact Moira Solle at 524-6323 or idasolle@msn.com.

Field Day

It has been a long standing tradition to hold Field Day on the last day of school.  Parents are invited to join their children after field day for a picnic lunch on the lawn.
