Welcome!
Hawthorne was built in 1937. An addition was added in 1957 to meet the growing needs of the school. In 2004, an extensive 4 year process was started to   modernize the 70-year-old building.  The school now has energy-efficient lighting, double pane windows and air-conditioning, creating an optimal learning   environment for students. After the renovation the Idaho Falls Historic Preservation Commission recognized Idaho Falls School District 91, Hawthorne faculty, and  the design and construction team for preserving the historic building.

Board Sets Election Date For Bond
The Idaho Falls School Board has set a May 18 election date for a $57.5 million bond that will address the district’s most critical building needs.

A recent survey of registered voters shows 82% of our patrons would consider voting in favor of a bond to pay for school improvements. How will the bond affect me?

The bond will pay for projects that will make our schools safer, improve classroom learning and upgrade the science labs in our secondary schools. The district’s other needs will be addressed with another bond in a few years. Tell us what you think
