Bond Election Set For March 13
The Idaho Falls School Board is asking patrons to approve a $53 million bond to pay for critical improvements to our schools. For more information, see the FAQs.
The election will be on March 13. Polls will be open from 8 am to 8 pm. The bond would pay to:
- Replace four of the district’s oldest elementary schools: Dora Erickson, Edgemont, Ethel Boyes and Longfellow;
- Upgrade science facilities at Skyline and Idaho Falls;
- Make planned upgrades to Clair E. Gale Junior High School's HVAC system, electrical system and classrooms;
- Update the electrical system at Theresa Bunker Elementary School, as well as address safety concerns such as adding doors to classrooms and improving the student pick-up/drop-off areas;
- Update the electrical and HVAC systems at Emerson High School, which houses the district’s online academy
The tax impact will be less than $10 a month for a home with a taxable value of $100,000. Even with the bond, D91 patrons will pay less in school taxes than patrons in surrounding school districts. Questions? Send them to us |
