Message from the principal....

As students enter the middle school, there is always a certain degree of anxiety that is experienced. They are no longer in elementary school, and they are not yet in high school. They are "in the middle." In 1989, the Carnegie Foundation had the foresight to realize that students from the age of eleven to fourteen required a unique educational program. The traditional junior high school model did not meet the individual needs of young adolescents in this age group. These young people have their own vision of the world around them that does not reflect the vision of an elementary or a high school student. It is our belief that a middle level educational program, in which students are placed on academic teams, is better suited to meet the needs of this student population. Middle level students benefit most from programs which help them explore their talents and interests, as well as develop new skills.

We invite members of the Idaho Falls community to visit our school and look at our program. There is an open invitation to community members to become part of our Action Team for Planning (ATP). The school improvement process is ongoing. The ultimate goal of the ATP is to improve student achievement and it is our belief that this goal is a community responsibility. Please stop in to look around and share your ideas.
