College vs Trade

Did you know your path here at Skyline is customizable?

Yes!  You can customize your high school experience based upon your goals and career path. You can customize it to take no college courses, some college courses, or maximize your college course experience in high school. You can also customize your high school experience based upon trade school career goals! Be sure to talk with your counselor and parents as you start college and career planning. The earlier you begin those conversations, the better your odds at reaching those goals!

Not sure what career path is right for you? Check out the resources on Next Steps Idaho to explore your options HERE. You can also check out Career One Stop for options and information HERE.

Are you interested in doing a trade to become a Welder, HVAC Technician, Plumber or Electrician?

Students who want to earn a Journeyman Associates Degree are only required to take 5 college courses. The Associates Degree is not required to complete an apprenticeship program at CEI. The Associates Degree gives students a chance to advance in their field if their company requires it for management, out-of-state jobs, etc. These apprenticeship programs are 4-year long programs and require an apprenticeship and 8,000 hours.

Make sure to always look at the most recent information on CEI's Work Force Training Website. They change things often, and we want to make sure you're getting the most up-to-date information possible. Check out their website HERE.
