Student Email Migration Project Information     



All D91 students and employees will soon receive the same email accounts.


Announcing upcoming Email improvements for students and staff.


That's not all! When the project is complete employees will no longer need to check email in multiple places or need to forward all of their  Gmail ( to their Microsoft Outlook Email account (, previously:


After the project has been completed:

  1. Email addresses will be standard and simple -
  2. Students will have increased email protections and controls.
  3. Students will show up in the district email directory.




When will students receive their new email account?

Students have this now (as the week of May 10, 2021).

When can employees and students stop managing email on 2 email accounts/platforms?

On Friday, August 13, 2021, all email account activity will begin forwarding to the email.

Why now?

Microsoft has recently changed its licensing. Microsoft Outlook Email in the cloud is now free to students on our district account. This will also align well with the upcoming Schoology launch.

Will students have both and accounts?


Yes, but next year, no one will be able to receive emails on their Google email. 


Will students need to log on to Chromebooks differently?


What can I do to help my students?

Have them go to their Single Sign-on and practice emailing with the new Microsoft email (

Will my old Google Gmail and calendar items be moved to my Outlook email for me?

No. Students and employees will need to forward any emails they wish to retain to their new email address (username The Gmail icon will remain on the 'Single Sign-On' menu until Dec. 31, 2021.


Will students be able to send emails to large email distribution groups like 'AllUsers'?

No, they will be restricted.


Will students be able to send a calendar invite including WebEx like teachers and staff?

No, they may join meetings but no initiate them.
