Oral Component

The final portion of the senior project is an oral component where students present their findings and discuss them.  A panel will be formed for each student’s oral component, it consists of a minimum of two people. Every student must present their project to a panel or propose an alternate audience.  The goal is to inform the audience about the project experience and the knowledge gained while completing the project. Students should share their knowledge and skills gained that will influence their post high school choices/plans.  Students may go about this component in multiple ways (presentation, interview and resume, or an oral element proposed by you), but all of the oral components will need to include the following:

  • A Ten Minute Minimum Oral Component: Each student must present for a minimum of 10 minutes.
  • Professional Dress: Students should dress as they would for a job interview - neatly groomed and clean.
  • Appropriate Visual Aid: This may include a portfolio of materials, an electronic presentation, pictures, and a resume, etc.  The goal is to bring items that students can address with the audience that are relevant to the senior project.
